BUSH VISITS FIRE VICTIMS, HAS PHOTO TAKEN

In typical Bush fashion our beloved Commander-in-Chief visited Southern California this week, saying and doing all the right things to make the PR people happy. That’s right; he even managed to look mildly concerned as he put an arm around a California woman who lost her home.

“We want people to know that there is a better day ahead,” said Bush, “…today your life may look dismal, but tomorrow life’s going to be better.” Profound, Mr. Bush. Profound.

The day before the President’s visit California Lt. Governor John Garamendi had stated in an interview with MSNBC’s Chirs Mattews that Bush’s visit wouldn’t help- indeed the hoopla over his arrival would be a distraction from the efforts to fight the fires. Another intelligence failure on the part of the White House I suppose- California didn’t need you, Mr. President.

The fact of the matter is Bush’s visit to California is an empty and obviously calculated gesture. Anyone remember Bush’s conspicuous absence after Hurricane Katrina? The nation needed leadership then, instead it got incompetence. Today proves that history repeats itself.
