A poll by the University of Iowa released on Monday shows Hillary as the Democratic frontrunner. Clinton rang in with 28.9% of likely Democratic voters, followed closely by Barack Obama with 26.6%. 2004 Vice-Presidential candidate John Edwards came in third with 20%. Voters were asked who they would vote for if the primary election were held that day.
On the other side of the political fence former Governor Mitt Romney came in first among candidates for the GOP. Romney seems to dominate this state, as Rudi Giuliani, the national favorite, came in a distant second. It’s nice to know that whoever wins in 2008- Democrat or Republican- we won’t have to suffer through four more years of Bush!
The first state to vote for party nominees, Iowa is a key battleground in the race for the party nomination. The party primary will held on January 3rd. It’s nice to know that our girl is looking good!
