Barack Obama surprised national viewers Saturday night when the presidential hopeful appeared on the long running comedy show Saturday Night Live. The opening sketch involved a Halloween party featuring a bored Hillary (played by Amy Poehler) and an outrageous Bill Clinton (Darrell Hammond) speaking with the other Democratic candidates in their Halloween costumes.
Suddenly a tall figure in a suit entered wearing an Obama mask. Hammond commented on what a nice Obama mask it was and asked who was under there. The studio audience and Americans everywhere cheered for almost a full minute as the actual Obama revealed himself from under his own mask. After trading a few punch lines with the Bill and Hillary impersonators Obama delivered the shows opening catch phrase- “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”
With Obama’s natural charm he should be on television more often- hopefully as President of the United States.
